A. Scholarship from the Government of Italy:

The announcement about the selection process and requirements are announced in prominent local newspaper (Kompas, the Jakarta Post, Bisnis Indonesia, Suara Pembaruan, Sinar Harapan, etc.) and in our official website: www.iicjakarta. esteri.it The selection this year will be announced during the first quarter (Jan - April) 2008. For this academic year (2007/2008), the selection has been completed in May 2007.The annual requirements every year are very similar, so while waiting for the new announcement for next year, you may read the existing information in our website which we mentioned earlier. Hopefully by doing this way you can have better understanding and preparation to participate in the competition.

Please also note that the Scholarship grant from the Government of Italy is distributed in terms of financial aids, which means that if you win this scholarship, you have also to bear several additional costs (return tickets, tuition fee for under/post/Master courses, etc.). The winner of this scholarship this year, receive Euro 700 per person per month to support their standard living allowance and course fee This grant is distributed for short period study/ course (1-3 months), medium period (6-9 months) and long period (9-12 months). This scholarship covers cost for document translation from Bahasa Indonesia to Italian (as one of the requirement) , visa application fee, fiscal fee and insurance (for health and accidents) except for dental care during your stay in Italy. This scholarship, excludes return air fare Indonesia-Italy- Indonesia.

In general, if you are selected to win any available Scholarship Grant(s) for studying Italian language, you will get chance to study in Italy starting from 1-3 months (short term) up to maximum 3 - 6 months (medium term) and the course will be held either at the University for foreigners in Perugia (refer to website: www.unistrapg. it) or Siena (website: www.unistrasi. it).

For applying scholarship in any Master course, please note that you must have a Letter of Acceptance from any Italian school/ University/ Institution. Without this letter, your application shall not be considered by the selection committee. Make sure that you establish a contact with a Professor from the University that you intend to take your Master Degree, and make sure that you can find a tutor/promoter of your study in that University.

If your application form (curriculum studio rum & vitae) meets the requirements and you can demonstrate strong hold motivation for learning Italian language and culture, your application will be selected and proceed the next step of the selection: interview with members of a Joint Committee of Indonesian and Italian authorities. for residents not living in Jakarta, they must bear their own expense to attend this interview and is not allowed to send other person to represent him/ her for this interview.

B. Scholarships from Italian Education Institutions (Private or State's Universities, Institutions, Academies).

You can obtain information about this type of scholarships from several Italian websites. You can brows website address www.miur.it, this is the official website of Ministry of Education, University, and Research, in this website you can find the name of Universities and you can search which program you would like to know more. You can search also on www.masterin. it, on this website you could find several Master programs offered in Italy.
Generally, University in Italy gives internal scholarship and they have their own procedure and policy about it. After you will have known the program, search intensely in University’s website the options how to get internal scholarship or you could ask to the Students Secretariat either they have scholarship program for foreign student or not.

A little information, most of Italian University website use Italian and English version but usually information in English version is limited. It would be better if you learn Italian language, so it will be easier to find specific information and learning Italian is good for you if you really want to continue your study in Italy.
